Regenerative Project 150 ha farm Costa Rica

Creating income for farming family, promoting reforestation, protecting watershed, supporting local bamboo industry

Description

The project's goal is to create a new source of income for a Costa Rican farming family by establishing a glamping site on their 120-hectare cattle ranch. This diversification strategy includes reducing livestock numbers and promoting reforestation. It aims to maintain family land ownership and foster a sustainable relationship between the community and income-generating activities, ensuring long-term stewardship of a healthy, biodiverse landscape. The proposal encompasses leasing land for eco-resort operations, engaging in eco-tourism, practicing rotational grazing, and selling organic crops. A key aspect of the mission is the protection of the Diamante Valley watershed. Utilizing bamboo as a renewable construction material is intended to enhance the local bamboo industry and provide future income opportunities for the small farmers' bamboo association.

Experienced partners will ensure sustainable design, permitting, and construction, while marketing experts will help attract eco-tourists and investors.

We are currently in discussions with potential funders and partners to secure funding for Phase 1, amounting to USD 165,000. Phase 1 encompasses the legal process, feasibility study, and business plan based on Commonland's 4 return model. Our senior contacts in the tourism industry indicate a promising return on investment for partners interested in exemplary regeneration.
